Board Member - Lisa Miller
Lisa’s dynamic and important work experience includes non-profit management, administrative and personnel expertise. She is also a self-employed bookkeeper, and has been invaluable to NWESC during this time of growth. In her ‘spare’ time, Lisa makes and sells organic soap. She and her husband also own a custom European style door and window manufacturing business, which was nominated for a small business success story in Snohomish County.
Lisa has been a benevolent member of society her entire adult life, with some of her efforts including launching food pantries, participating in large fundraising walks, and volunteering with animal rescue groups.
In her day-to-day world, Lisa is a wife, a proud mother of a 26-year old daughter and 14-year old son, and a lifelong animal lover and advocate. She and her family are currently one year into rehabbing a five-acre piece of property, which will ultimately include a house, barn, arena and trail obstacle course. Her animal family includes two horses, a miniature donkey, two dogs and a cat... five of which were rescued or rehomed to the ‘safe space’ her human family has created for them.
She is extremely passionate about in-hand work with horses, providing satisfying experiences for horses that are not suitable to be under saddle. She has spent the last 25+ years studying and implementing a natural and energetic approach to health and harmony, and is a Reiki Level II practitioner. She is also passionate about therapy work, especially as it relates to individuals dealing with the effects of PTSD.
