Rescue Groups
Northwest Equine Stewardship Center relies on the dedicated work of local horse rescue groups and their volunteers. NWESC strives to find a mutually beneficial relationship with these horse rescue groups by providing them with professional veterinary care, hoof care, and training of horses in need. Local rescue groups spend countless hours providing the daily care of rescue horses, fostering and adoption programs, etc. which allows the NWESC mission to stay in focus.
NWESC currently works with the following approved non-profit horse rescue groups. If your non-profit horse rescue group is not on our list and would like to be, please contact us for approval.
Chez Chevaux Mission Statement: To rehabilitate and/or retrain injured, neglected and/or abused Thoroughbred horses (with priority given to ex-racehorses) in order to secure their placements with permanent and appropriate homes. To accept donations of unwanted Thoroughbred horses for adoption in permanent homes. To improve the lives of Thoroughbred horses throughout the Pacific Northwest. To educate the public to recognize horse abuse and enlist their aid in stopping it. To offer assistance to Thoroughbred owners in times of natural or personal disaster. To engage in fundraising activities to accomplish these objectives.
Cowgirl Spirit's Mission is: To raise awareness of equine slaughter in America, by education and by rescuing “worthless” slaughter-bound horses and, with affection, training and dedication, develop their skill and spirit through equestrian drill competition; then fulfill their promise by placing these horses in new adoptive homes to give them long, happy and productive lives as riding companions.
Our Mission is to promote the betterment, safety, and well-being of mistreated horses; to provide training and resources for animal control officers and horse rescue organizations; and to create increased awareness among legislators, resulting in improved protection of horses.
Save A Forgotten Equine (S.A.F.E.) Our mission: To make a difference in the lives of forgotten and at-risk equines through direct intervention, education, and community outreach; to stress the importance of owner responsibility; and to operate at the highest level of integrity, honesty, professionalism, and compassion.
